In my fourth-year furniture design studio, I collaborated with a group of four to design and fabricate a set of stools that could physically connect to form a unified structure. Our concept drew inspiration from the columnar leg motifs of the Neoclassical era, while also envisioning a speculative future shaped by global destruction. In this imagined world, humanity turns to the past - specifically classical architecture and its principlesf - or guidance in rebuilding and fostering unity. The design reflects this narrative through interlocking legs that enable the pieces to join together as a single bench, symbolizing the power of collective strength and cooperation. For the construction, we selected Ash and Thermal Wormy Curly Maple wood, materials chosen for their rich textures and durability, aligning with the project's fusion of tradition and resilience.
